What we do with your information

You can read this in about two minutes. It describes exactly what happens to what you send us — not what a template says usually happens.

Last updated 29 August 2026

What we collect

If you send an enquiry through the form on this site, we collect the name and email address you give us, along with what you say you are trying to do, your timeframe, and your message.

We also record which page you arrived from. Separately, the site measures aggregate visitor numbers — page views and traffic sources, not individual people.

That is the whole list. We do not ask for identity numbers, payment details, or anything about your health, politics, religion or beliefs, and you should not send them to us.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, and to understand the problem well enough to scope the work before quoting on it. Nothing more — we do not sell it, rent it, or add you to a marketing list.

Giving it to us is entirely voluntary. Without a name, an email address and a description of what you need, we cannot reply — which is the only consequence of not providing it.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run this site and deliver email. They process your information on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

  • VercelHosts this website and provides its visitor analytics.
  • SupabaseStores the enquiry you submit, so it is not lost if email fails.
  • Resend (using Amazon SES)Delivers the alert to us and the confirmation to you.
  • CloudflareProvides DNS and sits in front of the site as a network layer.
  • HostAfricaHosts the mailbox your enquiry arrives in.

Several of these operate outside South Africa, so your information is processed abroad. We only use providers that commit contractually to protecting it to a standard comparable to South African law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while there is a live conversation, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can pick the thread back up if you return. If a conversation clearly goes nowhere, we delete it.

You can ask us to delete yours at any point, and we will — see below.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
  • Have anything inaccurate corrected, or anything unnecessary deleted.
  • Object to us holding it at all, and have it removed.
  • Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you think we have handled it badly.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will not ask you why, and it will not affect how we deal with you.

Security, honestly stated

Your enquiry is sent over an encrypted connection and stored in a database that is not publicly reachable. Access is limited to the people who need it, which at present is one person.

No one can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we hold as little as possible, for as short a time as we reasonably can — which is the part that actually reduces the risk to you.

Who is responsible for this

The Information Officer for Anything is Possible — the person accountable under POPIA for how your information is handled — is Brandon Dienar. Reaching him is not a process: the email address below goes to him directly.

Changes to this notice

If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. We do not make changes quietly and backdate them.

Questions

Ask us anything about this

If something here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold about you, just ask. A plain question gets a plain answer.
